Shakespeare was a writer, a person who mastered the art, and I do mean art, of communication with people in a way where he would not only get what he wanted said, but also learn how the person he was talking to thinks. In this case, with all his sonnets and plays he was able to see how the people watching or reading, thought. He was genuinely an engine, for others to think.
